Maintenance of Sint Baafskerk

In the fall of 2018, half of St. Baafskerk in Aardenburg was in the scaffolding for a major restoration commissioned by the Protestant congregation. Monumentenbezit decided to join in with some maintenance work to be done on its part of the church (nave and transept).
During the work at this monument, the slate covering of the north roof plane of the nave was replaced. At the same time werreviewed, maintained and, if necessary, adjusted the gutters, rainwater drains and lead connections.
The church is on the list of Top 100 monuments of the Netherlands. This church is the only remaining example of that style in the Netherlands.
